Tulips ‘Hot Pants’, ‘Blue Diamond’ (1), the mandala inside ‘Jacuzzi’ (2) and looking across the bed with ‘Olioulles’ and ‘Paul Scherer’ (3). ‘Dolls’ Minuet’ tulip is a viridiflora (green stripe) tulip which lasts for ages. It is lily-flowered, but a freer sort of shape than most. It likes to swirl and twirl it’s skirts in the sun. It has the slightest tinge of tangerine when it is young, but matures to full-on magenta. I love this tulip with Euphorbia ‘Fireglow’. I have also planted it this year in a raised bed with ‘Black Parrot’ and ‘Antraciet’ (pics 2 & 3). #tulips #tulipseason🌷 #tulipfestival #gardening #gardenobsessed #colour

The birth of the tulips has been laboured and slow this year. But their emergence is a triumph. In the bed I am calling ‘Tutti Frutti’: ‘Margarita’ (2) ‘Princes Irene’ (4) and ‘Slawa’.
